Belagio Designer Challenge 2019

Belagio Designer Challenge 2019

Quilt Market Designer Challenge - All Items

During the 2019 Fall Quilt Market show in Houston, the winners were selected from an eleven-person pool of imagination and creativity.

Belagio Enterprises, Inc. sent out a search for professional designers in the craft industry and sewing industry to participate in our Designer Challenge.  We have a fantastic line of cork fabric and we were curious to see what these creative minds would come up with.  We weren’t disappointed, and neither were our customers. Show customers voted for the People’s Choice Award also.

The rules of the Designer Challenge were simple:

  • Register to be one of 12 contestants
  • Order the amount and styles of our cork fabric needed for entry. (At least 75% of the finished project had to be our cork.) No competitor products could be used.
  • Create an original design showing the versatility of the fabric and creativity of the designer.
  • Deliver, have delivered or ship the finished design before the start of the show.

I chose three independent salespeople from the show floor to vote on creativity, use of cork fabric, and workmanship.

On October 25, 2019 at 4:00pm, we had our award ceremony.  Everyone involved enjoyed the challenge, the chance to find a new product to incorporate into their upcoming designs, and new friends in a very creative community!

Please check out the websites or Facebook pages to see other designs by these exceptional designers! Watch for these designs to be showing at our Spring Quilt Market and Fall Quilt Market.

The winner of the challenge and $500.00 was Kimberly Rado of Starry Night Hollow.  She was also the People’s Choice Award Winner.
